pregnancy & labor / Baby Riley
Ya’ll don’t even wanna know how tasty the portobello mushroom burgers I made tonight were. You would be too jealous. They tasted better than any burger I have ever had. We enjoyed them with some oven roasted red potatoes and it was divine. I think Riley must have enjoyed it, too because she is really moving in there tonight.
I washed my sheets, dusted, and vacuumed my room today. My dad and I fixed the car seat and made sure it was safe and ready. I somehow managed to reach my toes so my nails will be painted when they are hanging out next to the doctor’s head sometime in the near future. I arranged books on the bookshelf, watched a video on intelligent design, read a bunch of articles on baby cries, pets adjusting to newborns, and bringing the baby home.
I’ve been having horrible round ligament pain today. I haven’t had it in months and never like this before. Time is still crawling by and this week is dragging it’s heels. I need to stop watching birth shows on television and getting myself hyped up. It’s strange how calm and not worried I feel. There’s no fear— just excitement.
I hope she isn’t as stubborn as I am or she will stay in there until overtime. She will probably do whatever she wants, if she is anything like me.
Oh! My mom and I went to lunch at Whole Foods the other day and it was like a dream. Seriously, it was so good. I had this amazing caprese sandwich and split pea soup with tofu bacon… probably the best sandwich I have ever had and the soup was so good. It makes me sad to think that, once Riley is born, I will probably be living on refrigerator leftovers and pantry pick-me-ups for a long time. It will be worth it, though.
